The openness of open pedagogy is reflected in: open spatial, open environment, open curriculum, open attitude, and open use of resources.
Open pedagogies enables learners to handle things effectively with free will, reasonableness and legality in a harmonious interpersonal relationship. Only by keeping this philosophy and attitude can we create a person who has a sense of purpose, determination and perseverance in all things. This kind of person can do his or her own work spontaneously without the help of external stimulating force, and grow from many aspects of self.
One of the problem solving approaches mentioned in our article is close to open pedagogy, and my advice to students when they encounter a difficult problem is not to spend too much time on a problem but to take another approach, which includes seeking help from others or giving up on the problem for a while.
This approach is also promoted by open pedagogy. In a class with a relaxed atmosphere, students are guided to ask more questions and encouraged to solve problems with each other, so that they can think differently and be brave enough to create. In such a classroom atmosphere, students’ minds will not be too confined and bound, which is conducive to creative and innovative ideas.
